Area Attractions


The town of Newaygo offers several antique shops along with a variety of great restaurants. Enjoy live music on Friday nights in Brooks park, canoe, kayak or rent a boat to enjoy the beauty of the Muskegon River, and check out the Farmer's Market.

During Memorial  weekend Newaygo offers an arts and craft show, sidewalk sales, and more.

Celebrate the 4th of July with fireworks over the Croton Dam, Watch the Canoe and Kayak races, and don't forget the sidewalk sales in downtown Newaygo.

Newaygo Logging Fest is held during Labor Day weekend. Enjoy watching the lumberjack competitions, shop the many sidewalk sales as well as the Arts and Crafts show, Enjoy the Chicken BBQ and watch the Parade.

The park at Hardy pond is just one mile away and offers a beautiful swimming beach, fishing pier, picnic area, large parking lot, and restrooms.
There are several public boat launch sites along the Croton Pond and the Muskegon River all within a mile or two.

Bring your Bike and walking shoes as we are located right on "The EDGE"  The all  NEW bike/running trail. This new trail spans from Croton Dam to Hardy Dam.

  • Spring Steelhead~ Feb 15 - May 20th
  • Spring Trophy Trout with streamers~ May 20th -June 20th
  • Best dry fly fishing~ May 20th - July 5th
  • Upper Muskegon River smallmouth bass fishing~ May 15 - July 1
  • Fall Salmon Season~ Sept - Oct 15
  • Fall Steelhead~ Oct 20th - Dec 15
